Notes from a shamanic ridge

So it is. The Fon people of West Africa and the Balinese as well say that we come here as if in a pod We are born into this world with a singular web of relations that will grow, mature and accompany us till our deaths where they too shall vanish. I take this to mean that We arrive with specific and unique connections to the Elements: Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Space.  We have allies already in the Various Realms:  Divine,  Animal, Insect, Plants, Minerals.  How strange. We are made of stars, songs, and consciousness. Each with its own mysterious intelligence moves, suggests, points, directs, and reveals without demand.   In  Xochipilli Shamanism we are Conjugations made from  hylozoic energies . the Luminiferous Ethers are the physics of Majick. Ouhuaya, Ouhuaya-ya...  The visible and along with the unseen, are our Relations, our Affinities astonished, that weave the multiple emergences of your Self and mine as well.  Aho!  Emaho!  How Wondrous! This is an Ontolog

Order. Whose Order?

the Atmospherics of the Political. I keep a certain vigilance towards any essentialisms or Transcendentals.  Too often, as we know, the real world application of such  accounts of what is the meaning of Being devolves into ideology and a totalitarian/fascistic one at that. I listen to my sisters try on different installations of a World view (the Rise of the Goddess)  based on  implicit Transcendental schemas: Goddess speak,  Gaea, Deep Ecology, and so on.   I am for shifting away from the Logocentric Ontotheological discourse of the West since much suffering and oppression has come from the Political, Economic, and Legislative applications of such a Metaphysical stance. My female friends are mesmerized and enthralled at the possibility of a New World Order where the Feminine Divine reigns (whatever faces that could entail is another question).  They delight in the possibility of being priestess of a new Paradigm.  I wonder if they are not colluding with some of the same power/d

post human and shamanic emergence

The posthuman, for critical theorists of the subject, has an  emergent   ontology  rather than a stable one; in other words, the posthuman is not a singular, defined  individual , but rather one who can "become" or embody different identities and understand the world from multiple, heterogeneous perspectives. If we go with this definition then the resonance with a shamanic mind set is understandable.  A key feature of shamanic thinking is its capacity to assume or embody various perspectives and forms of embodiment. There is much to explore in order to fully bring out differences, resonances, and relevant applications.    Shamanism and post humanism. What distinctions lie ahead? Can new subjective and collective strategies emerge that are of value to a global historical context where there is simultaneously more control and dis-assembly of old paradigms as well? Perception is conception and how one conceives one is also perceived.
